Seriously, is there a vendor for the class legal carbon fiber mast?

The vendor for the mast is C-tech. You can link to their website through the class links tab.

You can contact them directly.

I received quote from C-tech promptly some SNAFU on my part.  In fact they replied multiple times within hours of my second message.

I really missed the boat on the original group purchase, currency conversion is not nearly as generous.  A single mast is >$6000 before shipping.

Any word on a US manufacturer? any hope of a group purchase?

Sailing on Zipper I really appreciated that mast.

current exchange rates really suck. Did they give you any indication of a group discount? I think we might have enough momentum to start working on another group purchase.

It is my understanding that when the original order was placed Albert Heller ordered an extra mast. You may want to contact him.

Talk to Don Corey. I think he had some things worked out with the news boats.

Gregg is correct, carbon masts can be ordered from Forte Carbon Fiber Products in Ledyard CT.  You can get a quote from Clint Rand with Forte at 860-464-5221.

Last month, I ordered the Forte for January delivery. I'll let you all know how it turns out...

I just received and set up my new Forte carbon mast.   Looks great and is performing well but wonder if other owners who have had one for awhile have some advice on shroud tension--particularly any differences from how it was done on the old al rig.

I have been chatting with Brad Lawson a lot about this and we are working on a new set of tuning with Brad. I think you will need to use a tighter set of #'s on the Uppers and maybe less on the lowers. Not flapping in the breeze in the round mast but a bit looser then the tin rig #'s.

We are now going to have to do a bit of a different design in the main for this rig. It is still stiffer then the tin rig but does bend sideways, unlike the round rig, so we will need to take luff curve out of this rig main. So 3 different designs for this boat now :)
